Asset Finance

13+ Years of Asset Finance Expertise

Asset finance is where I started, and it's still one of my favourite areas. With over 13 years of specialist experience, I've helped hundreds of clients finance everything from family cars to heavy machinery — and I know exactly which lenders offer the best deals for each asset type.

Asset Finance

What Can Be Financed?

If it's got wheels, a motor, or a serial number, chances are I can finance it. My asset finance experience covers a wide range of equipment for both personal and business use:

Cars and SUVs — new and used, private sale or dealer

Trucks and heavy vehicles — light commercials through to prime movers

Machinery and equipment — construction, manufacturing, agricultural, and industrial

Yellow goods — excavators, loaders, forklifts, and earthmoving equipment

Marine — boats, jet skis, and marine equipment

Specialist assets — medical equipment, fit-outs, technology, and more

Asset Finance

Business vs Personal Asset Finance

The right finance structure depends on whether the asset is for personal or business use — and the difference matters for tax, cash flow, and overall cost.

Business use — Chattel mortgage, finance lease, or commercial hire purchase. These structures can offer tax benefits including GST credits, interest deductions, and depreciation.

Personal use — Consumer loan or hire purchase. I'll find competitive rates and flexible terms to suit your budget.

ABN holders — Even if you're a sole trader or have a new ABN, there are lenders who specialise in helping small business owners get the equipment they need.

Asset Finance

How It Works

Asset finance is typically faster and simpler than property lending. Here's the process:

Tell me what you're buying — send me the details (or even just a listing link) and I'll get to work

I find the best deal — I compare rates and terms across my panel of specialist asset finance lenders

Quick approval — most asset finance approvals come through within 24-48 hours

Settlement — funds go directly to the seller, and you drive away (or start using your equipment) immediately

FAQ

Asset Finance Questions

Common questions I get from clients about asset finance. If yours isn't here, just ask.

How quickly can asset finance be approved?
In many cases, I can get pre-approval within a few hours and full approval within 24-48 hours. It's one of the fastest types of finance available. If you're at a dealer or auction, call me and I can often get things moving on the spot.
Do I need a deposit for asset finance?
Not always. Many lenders offer 100% finance on newer assets, especially for business use. Older or higher-risk assets may require a 10-20% deposit. I'll let you know what to expect based on the specific asset.
Can I finance a used car or older equipment?
Absolutely. I work with lenders who finance both new and used assets. There are some age limits (e.g., most lenders finance cars up to 12-15 years old at the end of the loan term), but I'll find the right option for your situation.
What's the difference between a chattel mortgage and a lease?
With a chattel mortgage, you own the asset from day one and the lender holds a mortgage over it. With a lease, the lender owns the asset and you make payments to use it. Each has different tax implications — I'll help you work out which structure suits your business best.
